Idols of the Cave was a project I finished in 2016. It tells the same story from the perspective of three different characters, including the ghost of a murder victim who doesn’t realize he’s in love with his killer. It’s a tiny bit gay and has a fair bit of genitals in it. Each set of books was shuffled, with the hope that each new reader would experience a slightly different story – as each character sees themselves and everyone else very differently, and has a a lot to add to each telling.

Idols of the Cave was inspired by Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa, and a few lines of the song the Mariner’s Revenge Song by the Decemberists.

Sadly, Idols of the Cave has been out of print for a few years now, and while I love the story and characters, it’s unlike I’ll ever reprint it. It can be read – sadly without the benefit of the shuffle – online at Weald, or purchased as a PDF from my online store.
