CCOL Residency

In June 2022 I was selected as the Canada Comics Open Library Artist In Residence. As part of the residency, I created the above illustration promoting the library, put together a display of the comics that influenced me the most, and did a weeklong take over of their instagram in the week leading up to the Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF). I was able to document my process getting ready for the festival and document the works displayed there.

I also wrote this blog post "COMICS VERSES EVERYBODY" as part of the residency. It details my experience getting into drawing comics as a child, and outlines what I find to be the affordances of the media over the others I've worked it.

I ran a small workshop on Making Choose Your Own Adventure Comics in Twine. (Thank you to the amazing Jordan Reg. Aelick for workshop poster illustrating the branching fates of our comic selves!)
